jianwei (AKA Oh Jian Wei, FKA invisiblespider) is a Singaporean singer, songwriter, and producer.
He began his musical journey as a "Bass one" singer in his junior college choir, where he was captivated by the magic of musical melodies and vocal harmonies.
Eager to refine his craft, he went on to pursue music in schools and private coaching under the tutelage of local musicians that deepened his understanding and appreciation for the art form. He also holds a Grade 5 in Contemporary Vocals from Trinity College London
His love for music blossomed, and he went on to embark on a career as an independent singer-songwriter with a unique sound that defies conventions.
With an experimental pop style, he creates genre-bending tracks with poetic, personal lyrics and themes that delve deep into queer love, literature, philosophy and psychology.
Drawing inspiration from his life experiences, jianwei creates truly timeless works of art. He found inspiration in experimental artists such as FKA Twigs, SOPHIE, and Bjork, and he was enamored with pop vocalists such as Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, and Adam Lambert. He has since strived to balance between pop commercial sound and experimental "genreless" style, hoping to bring the spotlight to Singapore's rising music scene
Jianwei’s debut single,"BLUE BUTTERFLY," was featured on Apple Music's "Rising From Singapore" and "New Music Daily" playlists and has already garnered up to 9k streams on Spotify, 11k streams on Apple Music, and 40k views on YouTube. He is currently working on his debut EP, set for release by 2026.
